Mr Sean Loughran is a Consultant Head and Neck and Thyroid surgeon based at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Salford Royal hospital and the Christie hospital.
He is currently lead clinician at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Following basic surgical training at Newcastle and London, Mr Loughran undertook registrar training in Glasgow followed by a specialist inter- collegiate fellowship in head and neck cancer at Newcastle. He was awarded the inter-collegiate gold medal by the Royal Society of Medicine for outstanding performance and first rank in the combined Royal College of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland fellowship examination in ENT surgery.
Mr Loughran has a particular expertise in head and neck cancer diagnosis and surgery as well as a very large thyroid surgical practice. He is currently regional lead for medullary thyroid and paediatric thyroid cancer, as well as being lead clinician for paediatric head and neck cancer surgery.
Mr Loughran is married with 2 children and enjoys golf and fishing when time allows.
